Words inherited from Latin in the field of Architecture and Techniques
The importance of inherited words
In the end, in Dacia there existed a rural and urban life similar to the western part of the empire. The Romans, after the conquest of
Dacia brought with them their civilisation that they implemented on the conquered territory. Thus, a lot of typically Roman buildings were built in Dacia, as for example, amfiteatre, apeducte, terme, temple.
These words designating these realities still exist in the Romanian language and this is due to the participation of the Dacians in the public life. Trajan destroyed a state, not a people.
The names of these buildings entered the languages of the neighbouring peoples who did not have a direct connection with the Romans, maybe only later. They use them only as historical references or as
names for that type of buildings. For example, the word amfiteatru ( amphitheatre in English and amphiteater in German).
