A Trip to Dobrogea
At the beginning of our summer holiday within the Comenius project "The
Heritage of the Roman Empire" we organized a trip to Dobrogea
in order to visit the Roman sites in this part of our country and to make
a detailed presentation of them. The trip took place between the 9th
and 13th of July.
&There were 14 students involved in
this trip: Angela Grigoroaia, Iulia Hurdubelea, Daniel Grad, Horatiu Iorga
(grade 10 D), Miruna Cociobea, Diana Teodorescu (grade 10 I), Loredana
Lorinescu, Mihaela Tudose (grade 11 I), Albina Catana, Mircea Costache
(grade 10 A), Alexandru Nicolin (grade 12 A) Bogdan and Victor Angelescu.
Our itinerary was: Bucharest-Tulcea-Murighiol-Argamum-Histria-Constanta-Mangalia-Navodari-Bucharest.
DAY 1 (9th
July)
Even though day 1 should have been
day 2, our plans were delayed by a few misunderstandings regarding our
transport. So on the 9th of July, at 6 a.m. we were all in the
schoolyard waiting for the bus that should have taken us to Dobrogea.
As the main objective of the visit
was to make a film, we tried to shoot the beginning of the film in front
of the school. But because we were too sleepy and nervous, the only things
we could say were our names. After waiting for an hour, we found out that
our bus had broken down on the way to school. Finally, our English teacher
found another bus and we left after 4 hours.
The new bus had 44 seats and we
were only 15. Because it was quite old and not very good, we had to go
at the amazing speed of 40 km/h. So we arrived 4 hours later than planned
in Bididia (near Tulcea), a huge, but deserted camp. The
only person waiting for us was the janitor.
We checked in and we went to visit
Tulcea,
where we phoned home, bought some food for the next day and some of us
had dinner.
As soon as we got back to camp
we went to bed and fell asleep, as we were very tired and the next day
was foreseen as a very busy one.
