About the school

Malet Lambert School is in the city of Kingston upon Hull on the eastern side of the country. Hull, as it is known, is one of the UK's major ports and the city is home to some 300 000 people. The school is the coordinator for this Comenius project.

The school has nearly 1400 students aged 11 - 16, both boys and girls. It takes students of all abilities from its neighbourhood and gets some of the best examination results in the city. Our aim is to get the best out of all students, whatever their abilities. Most of the present school buildings date from 1932, but there are a number of modern additions - most recently a technology block - and a new science block is due to be built in 2001. Every year there are more students wanting a place at the school than we can take.

Work on this Comenius project is being undertaken by students in our first year (aged 11-12) and in our fourth year (aged 14-15).
